What you will be doing

Under broad administrative direction of the Director – Digital Commerce & Marketplace Lead, responsible for managing the relationship between AmerisourceBergen and the respective manufacturing partners.


Proactively works directly with outside manufacturers to create innovative value-added deal structures that maximize the value of the relationship for both parties.
Negotiates contracts, establishes strategic sourcing relationships and manages customer-related programs; works towards resolving work issues relative to the trading relationship.
Collaborates across internal departments such as Sales & Marketing, Finance, Legal and other Supply Chain Management entities in order to promote the best interests of AmerisourceBergen.


Manages the marketplace affairs with key strategic suppliers to include negotiating business agreements and settling disputes and/or issues.
Represents and positions AmerisourceBergen favorably with suppliers and acts as an advocate for AmerisourceBergen interests relative to suppliers’ actions and policies.
Generates profit enhancing opportunities such as deals, rebates, allowances and promotional activities for the assigned suppliers.
Manages several contracting programs resulting in increased value for both AmerisourceBergen and its customers.
Performs related duties as assigned.


What your background should look like

Requires broad training in fields such as business administration, accountancy, sales, marketing, computer sciences or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four year bachelor’s degree program or equivalent combination of experience and education; normally requires a minimum of seven (7) years directly related and progressively responsible experience.


Outstanding knowledge of product and supplier base, product relationships and pharmaceutical / life sciences industry trends
Financial / analytical perspective to deal evaluation (fact-based negotiations that may include cost / benefit analysis, risk / reward assessment, etc) that requires strong analytical capabilities
Excellent computer skills in order to operate effectively with company systems and programs; deep knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Outlook.


Working knowledge of sales, purchasing, supply chain management and/or inventory management principles and methodologies
Exceptional relationship management and contract management capabilities, including discipline to departmental processes and procedures
Outstanding project management skills, including the ability to work collaboratively across the organization and manage multiple projects of various diverse scope in a cross-functional environment
Ability to deal with confrontational issues in a positive manner
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Excellent negotiating skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Strong organizational skills; attention to detail
Ability to implement processes resulting in satisfactory audit practices

*This Salary Range reflects a National Average for this job. The actual range may vary based on your locale. Ranges in Colorado-specific locations may be up to 10% lower than the minimum salary range, and 12% higher than the maximum salary range.
