Summary:
This role will be joining the growing School Sales team. This team is focused on establishing new partnerships with schools and other education entities across the country. This role will be responsible for top-of-funnel prospecting, initial outreach, and assessing opportunities. Rather than trying to close deals, the Business Development Rep’s work will revolve around generating and qualifying new leads for their Account Executive teammates.
Responsibilities:
Generate leads and build relationships by nurturing cold and warm prospects
Maintain a high level of outbound activity including a minimum of 75 calls/day
Manage and maintain a pipeline of interested customers
Utilize Salesforce, HubSpot, cold calling and email to generate new sales opportunities
Identify schools’ needs and suggest appropriate products
Proactively seek out new schools/districts in the market
Set up meetings or calls between prospective schools/districts and Account Executives
Work closely with the marketing and sales teams to initiate the sales cycle with new prospects
Foster meaningful and strategic relationships with Account Executives to achieve coordinated prospecting efforts
Collaborates with management and marketing on outreach projects
Develop a high level of understanding of Age of Learning products and how we fit into the marketplace
Reports to the Director of Inside Sales with weekly, monthly, and quarterly results
May require up to 10% Domestic Travel
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and/or 3 years of relevant work experience
1+ years of sales experience, with a history of exceeding goals
Experience utilizing communication tools such as VoIP (i.e., Zoom Phone), Outlook and Slack
Experience working with Salesforce, HubSpot or other CRM Software
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience working in the EdTech, Software Sales and/or K-12 space
Have a thorough understanding of the educational marketspace
Have 3+ years’ experience as a Business Development Representative
