The Business Systems Analyst will work in conjunction with the analysts of the Business Systems team, including the Business Systems Director. The Business Systems team has the responsibility of working with our customers to define and document the functional requirements, impacts and scope of the Information Technology projects. Business Systems Analysts also support the functional design process and ensure we maintain system sustainability. The Business Systems Analyst will need to learn all systems within the Asset Protection Division to become proficient in troubleshooting and assisting with resolving system malfunctions. Communication and collaboration skills are required to engage with external and internal customers daily to properly manage projects and other work.


Responsibilities
Perform business and system analysis for major IT systems. Work with user community and IT staff to define the scope of system issuesbugs, service requests (system enhancements) and projects. Research, identify and clearly document functional needs and impacts.
Deliver informative, well-organized requirements and design documentation to stakeholders for acceptance. Develop specifications for communication to use by IT Development resources.
Work with project teams to ensure quality throughout the pre-development life cycle, including identification of software defects.


Perform system reporting using service request database to support the user community and gain more in-depth knowledge of data structures to aid in system and service request analysis.
Support the lead and senior business system analysts with daily activities that enables the team’s success throughout each project.
Review developed application to ensure functionality is as desired in the requirement documentation.
Keep the team aware, in a timely manner, of any urgent requests or concerns submitted by the business teams, the quality assurance team or found during any system analysis.
Assist the QA team with understanding the system, business functions, functional requirements, and functional design documentation.


Assist the user community with user acceptance testing (UAT).
Conduct process review meetings, take input from manager and appropriately apply comments/feedback.  Moderate meetings, including demos, with project teams to ensure that customer expectations are properly managed.
Pursues continuing education opportunities in business analysis and industry subjects.
Knowledge/Experience/Education/Training
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related degree
0-2 Years’ Experience as a Business Systems AnalystInformation Technology Analyst
Microsoft Office Suite experience
Excellent written and verbal communication and interviewing/facilitation skills
Understanding of relational databases
Knowledge of SQL, MS Test Manager, Azure DevOps, IBM AS/400 and MS SharePoint are a plus
Understanding of an established SDLC

Protective’s targeted salary range for this position is $55,000 to $$70,000. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors, including but not limited to, job location, skills, and experience. The range listed is just one component of Protective’s total compensation package for employees.

This position also offers additional incentive opportunities through an annual incentive based on individual and Company performance.
