The People eXperience and Technology, Talent (PXT, Talent) team is looking for a customer- and employee- obsessed Principal Business Writer with demonstrated ability to produce high-visibility, large-impact communications around projects and complex problems.


Our goal is to design and implement programs and practices that are scalable for our growing and complex businesses. The Principal Business Writer is both a strategic and hands-on role. In this role, you will drive strategic, cross-functional initiatives in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment. You will be expected to effectively prioritize, manage risks, communicate, and deliver results in a systematic manner using project-management tools and methodologies.


Ability to leverage available technology, mechanisms, and processes to implement improvements and change will be critical. This role will be responsible for diving deep into processes, understanding capabilities and limitations, and making critical judgement decisions about how to handle stakeholder requests. You must possess high proficiency and efficacy in written communication, core program management skills such as negotiating across diverse teams of varying disciplines, and implementing mechanisms to scale repeatable processes.


To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate on-going curiosity and creativity, balanced with the ability to distill numerous inputs/ideas into meaningful actions and recommendations. This person must have strong analytical capabilities and a process improvement mentality. You must be able to interface effectively and communicate convincingly with leaders at all levels, including the executive leadership team. You will demonstrate the ability to work well and influence strategically in both small team and large, cross-functional environments. You will foster a culture of continuous improvement, providing thought leadership to and influencing change at all levels in the organization.


Key job responsibilities
• Develop briefs for key meetings with inputs from departmental teams (including but not limited to Operational Business Reviews, Weekly Business Review, State of the Union), including development of metrics (page 0) and qualitative context/narrative
• Provide cliff notes of document pre-reads for executive before meetings, as appropriate, including any context needed from ongoing projects or personnel (cross referenced ongoing projects or initiatives).
• Preview all materials presented to the executive to ensure quality of time-spent, committed time and feedback requested (purpose of meeting)


• Includes expectation setting with teams of executive time, agendas, outcomes, etc.
• Decomposes complex problems into simple, straight-forward process solutions, and present recommendations in a clear-and-concise, written format
• Develops and refines a framework for the management, reporting, and analysis of our strategic priorities and goals and our progress against them
• Use judgement and project management methodologies to develop employee-focused solutions.
• Manage cross-functional project teams, planning and organizing, and executing complex projects across multiple stakeholders and teams
• Respond to ad hoc and urgent business needs by balancing short-term delivery with long-term thinking.
• Promote the use of lean principles

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s Degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or related discipline
• 7+ years of experience in program or project management
• 7+ years of experience delivering cross functional projects
• 7+ years of experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior management
• 7+ years of experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
• Experience delivering written documents of a variety of forms: white papers, briefs, summary articles, etc
• Significant, proven track record of providing quality written communication to senior leadership


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Master’s Degree in related field
• PMP or similar certification
• Demonstrated ability to define, influence, refine and implement processes, procedures, and policies.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, evaluate outcomes, and challenge conventional wisdom.
• Ability to influence and negotiate comfortably and confident at presenting to all levels within the enterprise.


The pay range for this position in Colorado is $142,500 – $192,800 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
